Small grants. Big impact.
We offer small grants to promote peace and social justice in the Pacific. These grants are designed to encourage individuals to engage in endeavours aimed at nurturing inner peace or to participate in peace-building activities, to foster and sustain positive and peaceful relationships.
Grant recipients become Fellows who join the Pacific Fellowship, a community of like-minded peace-makers who are, in their own ways, committed to building peace and social justice, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.
Fellows are invited to contribute back to the Pacific Fellowship when able, creating a community of practice which passes the torch onwards.

Our Fellow for 2020-21 Mette Eliseussen
In 2020-1 we supported the work of Mette Eliseussen and her team at SafeGround Australia.
Mette comes to us with extensive experience in local and international initiatives to eliminate explosive remnants of war, as a researcher, campaigner, programme designer, manager and evaluator. Mette has worked in a number of countries. In Afghanistan, she founded and was part of the Afghan Campaign to Ban Landmines, when she was a member of the 1997 ICBL Nobel Peace Prize winning team, and received the 'Barn av Jorden' award for her wartime work with children in Kabul. She has campaigned on the Ban Bus and run speaking tours across the United States and more than 20 countries in Europe, lobbying national governments and civil society to join the Mine Ban Treaty and Convention on Cluster Munitions. We are proud to support Mette and her team who, with our support, have started to map and engage stakeholders in the Pacific to address munitions contamination resulting from the Second World War. Eighty years after the war, explosive remnants of war remain and continue to threaten the safety, lives and livelihoods of people in several Pacific countries. We are proud to support Mette and her team in kickstarting this important work. |
